Down the street from me there is a rec center/park that hosted a car show today. It wasn't a big show but there were some interesting cars there today. I think a lot of people didn't show up because it was raining earlier in the morning. By the time the show started though we had a great patch of blue sky with the sun shining in it. This actually made shooting the cars very difficult. Shiny cars with bright sun don't mix very well for photos.

For today's shooting I used my Nikon D90 with a Nikkor 50mm F1.8 D lens. I choose this lens because of its depth of field control and sharpness. After arriving at the show and seeing how the cars were set up I had some worries that this lens wouldn't work as well as I had thought. In the end it took a little bit of thinking and waiting for the right time to snap the photo to get some great shots.

Here are some shots from the show.

Probably my favorite shot of the show. This was one of the first pics I snapped. It is of a late 60's Camaro Z28 with a 302. This car was shiny

Down from the Z28 were some Mustangs. Here is an original Shelby GT500. It had an odd sized four hundred plus cubic inch engine. According to the owner it only got 3 miles per gallon

Another nice Camaro. This one had a cooler custom painted to match the car.

Get a tiger in your tank. Pontiac GTO convertable

63 Ford Thunderbird custom

A 62 Corvette. One of many of this body style at the show. They were all very nice but this one looked the best

A pair of Austin Healies. This looked like they would be a blast to drive

Now onto some of the full out custom jobs. Talk about some nice cars. I had no idea cars like these were around here

Nice shots, you sure don't see cars like that driving around up here every day. To bad that fence was behind the GTO, that's a bit much to clone out.

The last shot is my favorite of the full custom cars, it looks like you could actually drive that one, and I like the starburst reflection off the hood.
