Here are some pictures I took of a local air show from my backyard. Normally the planes fly much closer and lower to my house than what they did this year. For some reason they kept things pretty tight and mostly over the airbase. They also didn't do any real high speed passes with the jets. Oh well not having to deal with the crowds and the 13 mile back up on the freeway to get closer to the show was worth it.

First off the show starter an A10. They had a couple of these guys up there showing off. They did a mock attack on the air base with fake bomb drops and everything.

Here is a pic of a Mig 15 and Mig 17. These guys put on one heck of a show when partnered up with a FJ4B. They did mock dog fights all over the sky with one of the Migs always seeming to come out of nowhere to get on the FJ's tail.

The FJ4B that came to rescue me from the Migs. Here he is coming in for a landing.

Since the FJ seemed to be out numbered by the Migs he called in a little back up, ok a lot of back up with just a single F18 SuperHornet. Here is a shot of them flying in formation.

Here is a close up of the F18 and a view of it putting on its show. The amount of sheer power that plane has is impressive.

As a special treat the US Air Force flew a B2 bomber past us. The plane never landed and this is one of the only shots I got of it. He kept pretty far away from my house.

A view of one of the F22 they flew in for the show. These planes didn't actually fly in the show they were just there for static display. I snapped this shot the evening before the show when they arrived.

To end the show they did a Heritage flight consisting of an F4 Phantom, F16, F86 and one of th A10's. When I snapped these pictures the A10 was trying to play catch up to the group.

Enjoy.
Jerry

Great shots Jerry! If I had those that close to my back
yard I wouldn't even consider dealing with the crowds at
the show.

The modern planes are very cool, but the F4 Phantom is
still my favorite jet.
